Ephesians1
1PAUL, AN apostle (special messenger) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), by the divine will (the purpose and the choice of God) to the saints (the consecrated, set-apart ones) [a]at Ephesus who are also faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus: 하나님의 뜻(목적과 선택)에 따라 예수그리스도의 사도된 바울로부터 예수그리스도안에서 또한 신실하고 충성되며 변함없이 확고한 에베소에 있는 성도들에게,
2May grace (God's unmerited favor) and spiritual peace [which means peace with God and harmony, unity, and undisturbedness] be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 하나님 우리 아버지와 예수그리스도로 부터 은혜(분에 넘치는 혜택, 은총)와 영적 평강(하나님과 함께 하는 평강, 조화, 일치, 평온함) 이 넘치기를 기도하며
3May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm! 그리스도안에서 하늘의 모든 영적(성령에 의해 주어지는) 축복을 우리에게 주신 하나님, 우리 주예수그리스도의 아버지께 찬양을(송축을) 드립니다.
4Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. 세상이 조성되기 전부터 예수그리스도안에서 사랑으로 (하나님 자신을 위해 그분의 소유로서)우리를 선택하시고 하나님그분이 보시기에 거룩하고(그분을 위해 헌신케 하시고, 성화시키시고 성별하셔서) 흠이 없게 하시고 그의 사랑하는 자 (예수)앞에서 비난받지 않도록 하시려고
5For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]--그분의 목적에 따라 (그것이 그분의 기쁨이요 친절한 의도이기에) 예수그리스도를 통하여 우리를 그분의 자녀로 예정하시고(우리를 위한 사랑안에서 계획하시고) 입양하여(나타내) 주셔서
6[So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 그의 사랑하시는 자 예수 안에서 우리에게 자유로이 주신 그분의 영광스러운 은혜(은총과 긍휼)를 높이고 찬송케 하셨습니다.
7In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, 예수안에서 그의 피를 통해서, 그분의 은혜로운 은총의 풍성함과 관대하심에 따라, 우리는 우리 죄악(허물과 죄)의 사함(용서), 곧 구속(구조와 구원)을 받았습니다.
8Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence), 하나님은 우리에게 모든 지혜와 총명(실제적인 통찰력과 신중한 분별력)을 아낌없이 부어 주셨습니다.
9Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him, 그리고 그분의 기뻐하시는 (예전에 의도하셨고 그분안에서 시작하신) 뜻(자비로우신 작정)에 따라 우리에게 그분의 뜻의(계획, 목적의) 신비로운 비밀을 알게 하셨습니다.
10[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth. 하나님은 때가 무르익고 시대의 정점에 달할 때, 하늘과 땅의 모든 것들이 하나되어 일어나 고개를 들고 그리스도안에서 정점에 달하도록(통일되게) 계획하셨습니다.
11In Him we also were made [God's] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will, 예수님 그분안에서 또한 우리는 하나님의 기업(유산)이 되었고 우리는 유산을 받았습니다: 하나님 자신의 뜻에 대한 협의와 고안하심에 일치되게 모든 것을 행하시는, 바로 그분의 목적에 따라 우리는 선택되고 예정되었는데.
12So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory! 먼저 그분안에서 그리스도를 바라던 우리가 (확신한대로) 그분의 영광의 찬송이 되어 살도록 하여 주셨습니다. 13In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. 그분안에서 진리의 말씀, 즉 구원의 복음을 들었고 그분을 믿고, 붙들고 의지하고 있는 여러분도 오래전부터 약속하신 성령의 인치심을 받았습니다. 14That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it--to the praise of His glory. 성령님은 약속하신 우리의 유산의 보증( 첫열매, 맛보기, 서약물)으로서 완전한 우리의 구속됨과 완전한 우리의 소유를 기대하게 하고 그분의 영광을 찬양케 하십니다.
15For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), 이런 까닭에 나는 예수그리스도에 대한 여러분의 믿음과 모든 성도들을 향한 사랑을 듣고서
16I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. 내가 기도 할 때에 항상 여러분으로 인해 감사를 하나님께 올립니다.
17[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 내가 항상 기도하는 것은 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 여러분에게 지혜와 계시(불가사의와 비밀들에 대한 통찰력)의 영을 주셔서 아버지를 (깊이, 그리고 친밀하게) 알아가게 하시고
18By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 여러분의 심령의 눈을 빛으로 넘치게 하셔서 그분께서 여러분을 부르신 소망을 , 또한 성도들 안에 있는 영광스런 유업이 얼마나 풍성한지를 알고 이해하며
19And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, 더불어 그분의 전능하신 능력의 사역으로 보여주셨듯이 믿는 우리를 위해서, 우리안에 부어주신 측량못할 무한하고도 초월적인 그분의 능력의 크심을 알고 이해할 수 있게 되기를 바랍니다.
20Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places], 하나님께서는 그 능력으로 예수님을 죽은자 가운데서 일으키시고 하늘 보좌에 하나님 자신의 우편에 앉게 하셨습니다.
21Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. 그뿐만 아니라 모든 통치자, 권세. 능력, 지배권과 또 이 시대와 이세상이나 오는 세대와 세상의 모든 언급되고 언급할 수 있는 이름위에 그리스도를 더 뛰어나게 하셨습니다.
22And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], 그리고 하나님은 모든 것을 그리스도의 발밑에 두시고 그분을 전우주적인, 최상인 교회의 머리로(모든 교회에 걸쳐 머리가 됨을) 지명하셨습니다.
23Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself]. 교회는 그리스도의 몸이며 어디서나 모든 것을 완전하게 만드시고 그분이 있는 곳은 어디든지 모든 것을 충만한 분량까지 넘치도록 채워주는 분이 계신 곳입니다.
Ephesians 2
1AND YOU [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins 여러분의 허물과 죄로 인해 죽어있었을 때 그분은 여러분을 살려 주셨습니다.
2In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. 여러분이 (타락한)습관에 따라 걷고 있을 바로 그때, 여러분은 이세상의 (이 시대의, 요동치는)유행과 경로를 따르며, 공중의 권세 잡은자를 따르고 있었는데, 그 악한 영은 지금도 불순종의 (제멋대로이고, 반역하며, 하나님을 믿지않으며, 하나님의 목적에 반대로 가는) 아들들 속에서 활동하고 있습니다.
3Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God's] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind. 여러분과 나도 이들 가운데서 육체의 정욕(타락하고 감각적인 본성)을 따라서 육체의 충동과 (감각과 어두운 상상으로 인해 경도된) 혼의 생각에 순종하여, 자행자제하며 살았었습니다. 우리는 본질상 다른 사람들과 마찬가지로 (하나님의)분노의 자식이요, 노여움의 상속자였습니다.
4But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, 그러나, 하나님--그분의 자비가 얼마나 풍성하신지요!!! 우리를 사랑하신 그 크고 놀랍고 강렬한 사랑때문에 또 그것을 만족시키기 위해
5Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation).죄와 허물로 죽었을 때조차 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리시고 교제와 연합가운데로 이끄셨습니다. (예수님은 우리에게 그리스도 자신의 생명을 주셨고 하나님은 똑같은 생명으로 그분을 되살리셨습니다.) 여러분이 구원받은 것은 은혜로(자격없는 여러분이 받은 바 그분의 은총과 자비로) 말미암은 것입니다.
6And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 그리고 하나님은 그분과 함께 우리를 승귀시켜주셔서 예수님안에서 함께 하늘 보좌에 앉게 해 주셨습니다.
7He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus. 그렇게 하심으로써 하나님은 오는 시대를 통틀어서 예수안에서 우리를 향한 하나님의 친절하심과 선하심안에서 그분의 자유로우신 은혜가 측량못할 만큼 풍성하심을 분명히 확증해 주셨습니다.
8For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; 여러분은 믿음으로 말미암아 구원받는 은총을 얻었습니다. 이 구원은 (여러분 자신의 행함이나 노력으로 말미암은) 여러분에게서 난 것이 아니라 하나님의 선물입니다.
9Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] 율법의 요구를 성취함으로써 얻은 것이 아니므로 어떤사람도 자랑할 수 없습니다. (사람이 할 수 있는 일의 결과가 아니므로 어느 누구도 자랑할 수 없고 스스로 영광을 구할 수도 없습니다.)
10For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. 거듭난 우리는 하나님 그분 자신이, 우리를 위해 예정하신 선한 일들을 위해
예수그리스도 안에서 새롭게 창조하신 수작품이므로. (하나님께서 우리가 살아가도록 예정하신 선한 삶을 살면서) 그 일들 안에서 마땅히 걸어가야 합니다.
11Therefore, remember that at one time you were Gentiles (heathens) in the flesh, called Uncircumcision by those who called themselves Circumcision, [itself a mere mark] in the flesh made by human hands. 그러므로 예전에는 여러분이 육체로는 이방인이요 사람의 손으로 육체에 행한 할례자들에게는 무할례자로 불리던 사람들임을 기억하십시요.
12[Remember] that you were at that time separated (living apart) from Christ [excluded from all part in Him], utterly estranged and outlawed from the rights of Israel as a nation, and strangers with no share in the sacred compacts of the [Messianic] promise [with no knowledge of or right in God's agreements, His covenants]. And you had no hope (no promise); you were in the world without God. 그때, 여러분은 그리스도로부터 따로 떨어져 있고(예수안의 모든 것들에서 배제된) ,민족으로서의 이스라엘의 권리와는 전혀 상관없고 거기에서 벗어난 무법한 상태였으며 메시아 약속의 성스런 계약에 전혀 몫이 없는 (하나님의 동의하심, 곧 그분의 언약에 대한 지식도, 권리도 없는) 외인이었습니다. 소망도 없고 하나님 없이 세상에서 있었습니다.
13But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near. 그러나 여러분이 예전에는 떨어져 있었지만, 이제는그리스도 예수안에서 예수보혈로 가까와졌습니다.
14For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us, 예수님은 그분 자신이 (연합과 조화의 결속을 주시는) 우리의 평강이십니다. 우리 둘을 하나로 만드시고 우리사이에 있던 적대감의 벽을 허무셨습니다.
15By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace. 그분 자신의 십자가에 달린 몸을 허무셔서 율법으로 인한 적대감을 무효화 하셨고 그분 안에서 둘로부터(두가지 인간성으로부터) 하나된 새 사람을 창조하셔서 평화를 가져다 주셨습니다.
16And [He designed] to reconcile to God both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of His cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end. 이 연합된 둘을 그분의 십자가를 통해 하나로서 하나님과 화해하도록 하셔서 상호 적대감을 죽이셨고 원한을 끝내도록 하셨습니다.
17And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near. 그리고 그분은 오셔서 평강의 기쁜 소식을 멀리 있던 여러분에게와 가까이 있던 사람들에게 전하셨습니다.
18For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. 그분을 통해서 우리 둘 다 한 성령님에 의해 아버지께 나아감을 얻었습니다.
19Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God's own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God's [own] household. 그러므로 여러분은 더이상 외부인(시민권이 없는)이 아니라 성도들과 함께 하늘의 시민권을 가집니다. 하나님의 가족인 것입니다.
20You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone. 여러분은 머릿돌인 그리스도화 함께, 사도와 선지자들의 기초위에 세워져 있습니다.
21In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to rise (grow, increase) into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord]. 그분 안에서 전체 구조가 서로 조화되도록 결합되고 주님 안에서 (헌신되고 성화 되고 하나님 임재 앞에서 성별된)거룩한 성전으로 계속해서 자라갑니다.
22In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit. 그분안에서 그리고 다른 사람들과의 교제가운데서 여러분 자신도 나머지 부분들과 함께 한 건축물로서 세워져서 성령님안에서 하나님의 견고한 처소가 되어 갑니다.
Ephesians 3
1FOR THIS reason [because I preached that you are thus built up together], I, Paul, [am] the prisoner of Jesus the Christ for the sake and on behalf of you Gentiles--여러분이 함께 한 몸으로 세워져 간다고 전파하는 이유로 나 바울은 여러분 이방인들을 위한 그리스도 예수의 죄수가 되었습니다.
2Assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace (His unmerited favor) that was entrusted to me [to dispense to you] for your benefit, 여러분의 유익을 위해 (여러분에게 그것을 나누어 주라고)내게 위임된 하나님의 은혜의 사환됨(직분)에 대해 여러분이 들으셨으리라고 생각됩니다.
3[And] that the mystery (secret) was made known to me and I was allowed to comprehend it by direct revelation, as I already briefly wrote you. 그리고 내가 전에 이미 간단히 써 보낸대로 하나님은 직접적인 계시로 신비로운 감추인 비밀(계획)을 내가 알고 이해할 수 있도록 해 주셨습니다.
4When you read this you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ. 여러분이 이것을 읽게 되면 그리스도의 비밀(계획)에 대한 나의 통찰을 이해할 수 있게 될 것입니다.
5[This mystery] was never disclosed to human beings in past generations as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles (consecrated messengers) and prophets by the [Holy] Spirit. 이 비밀 계획은 지금은 주님의 거룩한 사도들과 선지자들에게 성령님을 통해 드러내 주셨지만 , 지나간 세대에서는 사람에게 결코 알려지지 읺았습니다.
6[It is this:] that the Gentiles are now to be fellow heirs [with the Jews], members of the same body and joint partakers [sharing] in the same divine promise in Christ through [their acceptance of] the glad tidings (the Gospel). 그것은 바로 이것입니다.이방인들도 복음을 통하여(복음을 받아들임으로써) 이제는 유대인들과 함께 동료 유산자(유산에 참여한 자)요, 같은 몸의 지체요, 예수안에서 동일한 거룩한 약속을 공유한 공동의 참여자가 되었다는 것입니다.
7Of this [Gospel] I was made a minister according to the gift of God's free grace (undeserved favor) which was bestowed on me by the exercise (the working in all its effectiveness) of His power. 내게 주신 하나님의 제한없는 은혜의 선물에 따라 그분의 능력의 역사로 나는 복음의 일꾼이 되었습니다.
8To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God's consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out], 나로 보면, 나는 모든 성도들 중에서 가장 작은 자이지만, 하나님은 이 은혜(특권)를 주시고 또한 은혜롭게 내게 위임해 주셔서 이방인들에게 그리스도의 한없이 부요하심을( 어떤 사람도 알지 못한 부요하심을 ) 선포하게 하셨습니다.
9Also to enlighten all men and make plain to them what is the plan [regarding the Gentiles and providing for the salvation of all men] of the mystery kept hidden through the ages and concealed until now in [the mind of] God Who created all things by Christ Jesus. 또한 모든 사람들을 일깨워 가르쳐서, 예수그리스도에 의해 모든 것을 창조하신 하나님의 혼안에서 지금까지 감추어지고 여러세대를 통해 숨겨져 왔던 (이방인들에 대해, 모든 사람의 구원을 위한 준비로서의) 신비의 그 계획을 명료하게 그들에게 알도록하셨습니다.
10[The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere. 그 목적은 교회를 통하여 지금 모든 다양성과 이루다 헤아릴 수없는 측면에서 나타나는 복잡다단한 하나님의 지혜를 하늘에 있는 천사장들과 권세들에게까지 알리도록 한 것입니다.
11This is in accordance with the terms of the eternal and timeless purpose which He has realized and carried into effect in [the person of] Christ Jesus our Lord, 이것은 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 사람들 안에서 실현되어지고 완수되어진, 영원하고도 시간을 넘어선 목적에 따른 것입니다.
12In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear). 예수 안에서, 그분에 대한 믿음으로 인해, 우리는 감히 (두렴없이 자유롭게 하나님께 거리낌없이) 나아갈 용기와 담력을 얻습니다.
13So I ask you not to lose heart [not to faint or become despondent through fear] at what I am suffering in your behalf. [Rather glory in it] for it is an honor to you. 그러므로 내가 당부하는 것은 여러분 때문에 내가 고난당하는 것에 대해 실망하지 말라는 것입니다.(두려움으로 의기소침해지지 말라는 것입니다) (거기에는 오히려 영광이 있고) 그것은 여러분에게 영광이 됩니다.
14For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (예수안에서 여러분이 함께 건축되어감에 의한 이계획의 위대성을 앎으로 인해) 이런 이유에서 나는 주예수그리스도의 아버지께 무릎꿇고 기도합니다.
15For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name].
그분은 하늘과 땅의 모든 족속에게 이름을 주셨습니다.(모든 아버지됨과 조상의 이름이 그분으로부터 유래되었습니다).
16May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. 그분의 영광의 풍성한 보고로 부터 여러분에게 (여러분의 가장 깊은 존재와 인격에 내주하고 계신)성령님을 통해 강한 능력으로 여러분의 속사람을 강하게 하시고 활기차게 하시기를 기도합니다.
17May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 여러분의 믿음을 통해 여러분의 심령을 그리스도께서 그분의 영원한 집으로 삼아 실제로 주인으로서 거하시고, 주예수님의 사랑에 깊이 뿌리가 박히고 안전하고도 굳게 터잡혀 세워지고
18That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; 그분의 사랑의 권능을 받아서 강하게 되어지고 , (그사랑을 경험하고 하나님께 헌신한) 모든 성도들과 함께 그사랑의 폭과 길이와 높이와 깊이를 알아가며 그사랑을 확고히 꼭 움켜쥐고
19[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! 20Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]-- 우리안에서 역사하시는 하나님은 그분의 능력으로 ( 그분의 목적을 이루시고) 우리가 (감히) 구하거나 생각하는 것보다 (우리의 최상의 기도 생각 바램, 꿈 보다 더 높고 무한히) 더욱 더 풍성하게 행하십니다.

Ephesians 4
1I THEREFORE, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God's service, 그러므로 주님을 위한 죄수된 내가 여러분께 간청합니다. 여러분을 거룩하게 부르신 부르심에 합당한 행동의 삶을 사십시요.
2Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another. 완전한 혼의 겸손과 온유함(이타적이고 친절하고 부드러움), 인내, 서로서로 참아줌, 서로 사랑함으로써 관용(너그럽게 대함)하며 살아가십시요.
3Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace. 열심을 내고 부지런히 노력하여서 평강의 묶는 능력안에서 성령님의 조화롭게 하심과 하나되게 하신 것을 보전하고 지키십시요.
4[There is] one body and one Spirit--just as there is also one hope [that belongs] to the calling you received--몸도 하나요 성령님도 하나입니다. 또한 여러분이 받은 부르심에 속한 소망도 하나입니다.
5[There is] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 주님도 하나요, 믿음도 하나요, 세례도 하나입니다.
6One God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [Sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all. 모든 것위에 계신, 모든 것을 다스리시는, 우리안에 모든 것을 넘치게 공급하시는 하나님 아버지도 하나입니다.
7Yet grace (God's unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ's [rich and bounteous] gift. 그러나 은혜는 그리스도의 (풍성하고 관대하신) 은사의 분량에 따라 우리 각자에게 개인적으로 (각각 다르게, 구분되게) 주어졌습니다.
8Therefore it is said, When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive [He led a train of vanquished foes] and He bestowed gifts on men. 그러므로 말씀하시기를, <주께서 위로 올라가실 때 사로잡은자를 (패배시킨 적들의 무리를) 이끌고 가시며 사람들에게 선물을(은사를)주셨다>고 되어 있습니다.
9[But He ascended] Now what can this, He ascended, mean but that He had previously descended from [the heights of] heaven into [the depths], the lower parts of the earth 그러나, 그분이 올라가셨다고요 자, 그렇다면 그가 올라가셨다면 그 전에 그분이 하늘 높은 곳에서부터 땅의 맨끝 바닥인 음부에까지 내려 갔던 것이 아닙니까
10He Who descended is the [very] same as He Who also has ascended high above all the heavens, that He [His presence] might fill all things (the whole universe, from the lowest to the highest). 내려 갔던 그분이 또한 바로, 모든 것을 충만케 하시려고 모든 하늘들 위로 올라가셨습니다.
11And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. 그리고 은사를 주셔서(다양하게 그분이 지명하셔서 우리에게 사람들을 주셨는데), 어떤이는 사도로(특별한 전달자), 어떤이는 선지자로(성령에 감동된 설교자요 해설자), 어떤이는 복음전도자로(다니며 복음을 전하는 설교자), 어떤이는 목사로(양떼의 목자), 어떤이는 교사로 세우셨습니다.
12His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), 그분의 의도는 성도를 온전케 하고 잘 구비되게(갖추어지게) 하고, 그리스도의 몸인 교회를 세우기 위한, 섬김(봉사)의 일을 하도록 하기 위한 것입니다.
13[That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him. 이로써 우리 모두가 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음과 (완전하고 정확한) 지식의 이해에 있어서 하나를 이룰 때까지, 그리고 진정한 인간성의 성숙함(이 도달함에) 있어서, (우리의 인격의 완성도가 그리스도 자신의 완전함에 못미치지 않도록) 그리스도의 충만하심의 장성함의 분량에 도달할 때까지 자라가야 할 것입니다.
14So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead. 그러므로 우리는 더이상 가르침의 돌풍 사이에서 배처럼 흔들리거나, 이론의 모든 변화의 바람 즉, 잘못인도하는, 꾸며낸 오류속에서 자꾸 변하는 모든 속임수에 관계된 사기꾼 같은, 비양심적인 사람들의 간교함과 세속적인 영리함에 왔다갔다하는 그런 어린 아이가 되어서는 안됩니다.
15Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 오히려 우리 삶속에서 사랑스럽게 진리를 나타냅시다.(모든 면에서 진실되게 말하고, 진실되게 행하고, 진실되게 사십시다) 사랑에 감싸여서, 모든 방법에서, 모든 면에서 머러가 되신 그리스도까지 자라갑시다.
16For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love. 그분으로 인해 (모든 지체를 가진) 몸인 교회는 충분히 영양공급을 받은 관절과 인대로 가까이 결합되고, 함께 연결되고 각 지체가 적절히 기능할때, 완전히 성숙함에까지 자라나서 사랑안에서 세워져 갑니다.
17So this I say and solemnly testify in [the name of] the Lord [as in His presence], that you must no longer live as the heathen (the Gentiles) do in their perverseness [in the folly, vanity, and emptiness of their souls and the futility] of their minds. 그러므로 내가 하나님 앞에서 말하는 것처럼 주님의 이름으로 엄숙히 말하고 증거하는 바는, 여러분은 더 이상 비뚤어지고 심술궂은 혼 가운데 행하는 (어리석고, 공허하며, 빈껍데기의 무익한 혼적 삶을 사는) 이방인으로서 살지 말라는 것입니다.
18Their moral understanding is darkened and their reasoning is beclouded. [They are] alienated (estranged, self-banished) from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the ignorance (the want of knowledge and perception, the willful blindness) that is deep-seated in them, due to their hardness of heart [to the insensitiveness of their moral nature]. 그들의 도덕적 이해는 어두워져 있고 그들의 이성도 가리워져 있습니다. 심령이 굳어짐으로 인해 그들안에 깊이 자리잡고 있는 무지함 (지식과 감각이 없고 고집스러운 눈멈) 때문에, 그들은 하나님의 생명에 대해 공유하지 못하고, 낯설고 소외된, 문외한입니다.
19In their spiritual apathy they have become callous and past feeling and reckless and have abandoned themselves [a prey] to unbridled sensuality, eager and greedy to indulge in every form of impurity [that their depraved desires may suggest and demand].
20But you did not so learn Christ! 영적 무감동 가운데서 그들은 감각이 없고 감동이 멀어지고 무모하며 고삐풀린 관능(육욕)에 자신을 맡기고 (그들의 타락한 욕망들이 이끄는 대로) 온갖 형태의 정결치 못한 것들을 열정적으로 탐욕스럽게 탐닉하고 있습니다. 그러나 여러분은 그리스도를 그렇게 배우지 않았습니다.
21Assuming that you have really heard Him and been taught by Him, as [all] Truth is in Jesus [embodied and personified in Him], 내가 알기로는, 여러분은 예수님 안에 있는 (구체화되고 인격화 된) 모든 진리에 따라, 진실로 그분의 말씀을 들었고 그분에게서 배워왔습니다.
22Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; (구원 받기) 이전의 삶의 태도로 특징지어지고 또한 망상으로부터 분출되어 나온, 예전 본성을 가진 여러분 자신을 (거듭나지 못한 옛자아를) 벗어버리고
23And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], 여러분의 혼속의 영을 걔속 새롭게하여
24And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.진실한 의로움과 거룩함 안에서 (하나님처럼) 하나님의 형상으로 지으심을 받은 새 성품( 재창조된 자아)를 입으십시요.
25Therefore, rejecting all falsity and being done now with it, let everyone express the truth with his neighbor, for we are all parts of one body and members one of another.그러므로 모든 거짓을 거부하고 지금 새 성품이 작동되게 하십시요. 모든 사람들이 이웃들에게 진리를 나타내게 하도록 하십시요. 우리는 한 몸의 모든 부분들이요 서로서로의 지체입니다.
26When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation, your fury or indignation) last until the sun goes down. 화를 내어도 범죄하지 마십시요 : 해지기까지 여러분의 분노를 지속되게 하지 마십시요.
27Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. 마귀에게 어떤 틈이나 발판을 (기회를) 남겨 놓지 마십시요.
28Let the thief steal no more, but rather let him be industrious, making an honest living with his own hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need. 도둑은 더이상 도둑질하지 마십시요. 오히려 열심히 일해서 그자신의 손으로 정직한 삶을 살면 궁핍한 사람을 도울 수 있을 것입니다.
29Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it. 악취나고 오염시키는 말, 악한 말이나 불건전한 말, 가치없는 말들은 여러분의 입에서 제하여 버리고, 꼭 필요한 말 또는 경우에 맞는 말처럼, 다른 사람들의 영적 진보에 도움되는 선한 말들만 하여 그것을 듣는 사람들에게 축복이 되고 은혜를 끼치도록 하십시요.
30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God's own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin). 하나님의 성령을 근심하게, 슬프게(모욕하거나, 괴롭게, 화나게) 하지 마십시요, 성령님에 의해 구속(마귀와 죄의 결과로 부터 그리스도를 통한 궁극적인 구원)의 날까지 여러분은 (하나님의 소유로) 인치심을 받았습니다.
31Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind). 모든 쓴뿌리와 비분과 노함(욱하는 악한 기질), 원한(적대감)과 다툼(소란스러움, 분쟁), 모욕(중상모략 독설 모독)은 모든 악의와 함께 멀리하십시요
32And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you. 서로서로 돕고 친절하고 쓸모있는 , 부드러운(이해심 많고, 동정심있고, 사랑하는 마음의) 마음의 소유자요, 주님께서 용서하셨듯이 서로 (기꺼이 자발적으로) 용서하는 사람이 되십시요.
Ephesians 5
1THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. 그러므로 사랑받는 자녀가 자기 아버지를 본받는 것처럼 하나님을 본받는 자가 되십시요.
2And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. 그리스도께서 우리를 사랑하셔서 우리를 위해 하나님께 향기로운 예물이요 희생제물로 자신을 내어주신 것처럼, (서로서로 존중하며 기뻐해주며) 사랑안에서 걸어가십시요.
3But immorality (sexual vice) and all impurity [of lustful, rich, wasteful living] or greediness must not even be named among you, as is fitting and proper among saints (God's consecrated people). 그러나 성적 부도덕과 모든 정욕적인, 소모적인 삶의 순결치못함이나 탐욕은 여러분사이에서 그이름도 내지 마십시요.
4Let there be no filthiness (obscenity, indecency) nor foolish and sinful (silly and corrupt) talk, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting or becoming; but instead voice your thankfulness [to God]. 더러운(외설적인,음탕한), 어리석은, 타락하고 우스갯소리의 말들, 거친 농담을 하지 않도록 하십시요. 품격에 맞지 않습니다. 대신에 하나님께 감사의 목소리를 높이십시요.
5For be sure of this: that no person practicing sexual vice or impurity in thought or in life, or one who is covetous [who has lustful desire for the property of others and is greedy for gain]--for he [in effect] is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 성적부도덕이나 삶이나 생각의 순결치못함을 행하는 사람이나 (남의 것을 탐내는 정욕에 빠지거나 이익을 탐하는) 탐욕에 빠진 사람은 (탐욕은 실상은 우상숭배입니다) 하나님과 그리스도의 나라의 유업을 얻지 못합니다.
6Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundless arguments [for these sins], for through these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience. 어느 누구도 (이들 죄에 대해) 공허한 변명이나 근거없는 논쟁으로 여러분을 기만하거나 속이지 못하게 하십시요. 이런 것들을 통하여 하나님의 진노가 반역과 불순종의 아들들에게 임하기 때문입니다.
7So do not associate or be sharers with them. 그러므로 그들과 교제하거나 무엇이든지 같이 하지 마십시요.
8For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light]. 예전에 여러분은 어두움속에 있었지반 지금은 주안에서 빛가운데에 있습니다. : 빛의 자녀들처럼 행하십시요 (타고난 천성에 따라 사는 삶을 빛되신 주님께로 인도하십시요)
9For the fruit (the effect, the product) of the Light or the Spirit [consists] in every form of kindly goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life. 빛되신 주님이나 성령님의 열매는 모든 형태의 친절한 선행, 마음의 정직, 삶의 진실함으로 구성됩니다.
10And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him]. 그리고 주님을 기쁘시게 하는 것이 무엇인지 (경험으로 )배우도록 하십시요. (그분께 가장 합당한 것이 무엇인지 삶속에서 계속 증명해 보이십시요)
11Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] expose and reprove and convict them. 열매없는 행위나 어두움의 일에 참여하지도, 끼어들지도 마십시요. 대신에 그것들을 드러내고 꾸짖고 판별하십시요.
12For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that [such people] practice in secret. 그런 (불순종의) 사람들이 비밀히 하는 일들은 언급조차하기 부끄럽습니다.
13But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible and clear there is light. 그러나 어떤 것이라도 빛에 의해 드러나고 꾸짖음당할 때: 그것은 분명해지고 깨끗해집니다. 모든 것이 나타나 보이고 분명한 곳에 빛이 있습니다.
14Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. 그러므로 그분께서 말씀하시기를, <잠자는 자여, 깨어라, 죽은 자들로부터 일어나라 그리스도께서 너의 위에 빛을 비추시고 빛을 주신다>고 하였습니다.
15Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), 어떻게 여러분이 살아가고 있는지 잘살펴 보십시요. 어리석고 우둔한 자처럼하지말고 지혜로운자(지각이 있는 지성인들 처럼) 단호하게(성큼성큼, 목적을 가지고), 가치있게, 정확하게 살아가십시요.
16Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. 시간을 아끼십시요(시간을 가치 있게 만드십시요, 모든 기회를 사십시요) 때가 악합니다.
17Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. 그러므로 애매모호하거나 생각없는 어리석은 자처럼 살지 말고 주님의 뜻이 무엇인지를 이해하고 굳게 잡으십시요.
18And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit. 술(포도주)로 취하지 마십시요. 그것은 방탕입니다. 오직 성령으로 충만하고 자극받아 사십시요.
19Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord, 시편과 찬송과 영적인 노래들로 서로 말하며, 목소리와 악기로 찬양하며 주님께 전심으로 아름다운 노래를 올려드리십시요.
20At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father. 범사에 모든 것을 인해서 아버지 하나님께 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 감사를 드리십시요.
21Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 그리스도를 경외함으로써 서로 복종하십시요.
22Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord. 아내들이여, 주님께 하듯이 자신의 남편들에게 순종하십시요(복종하고 맞춰주십시요)
23For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, Himself the Savior of [His] body. 예수께서 몸된 교회의 머리요 구주이신 것처럼 남편도 아내의 머리입니다.
24As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. 교회가 그리스도에게 복종하듯이 아내들도 범사에 남편들에게 순종하십시요.
25Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 남편들이여, 그리스도께서 교회를 사랑하셔서 자신을 주셨듯이 여러분의 아내들을 사랑하십시요.
26So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, 주님께서는 말씀과 물로 씻어서 깨끗케 하심으로 교회를 성결케 하시고
27That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless]. 점도, 흠도 그밖의 어떤 결점도 없이 오직 영광의 위엄으로 교회를 옷입혀 주셨습니다.
28Even so husbands should love their wives as [being in a sense] their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. 남편들은 자기몸처럼 아내들을 사랑해야 합니다. 자기 아내를 사랑하는 것이 자신을 사랑하는 것이기 때문입니다.
29For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and carefully protects and cherishes it, as Christ does the church, 어느 누구도 자기 육체를 미워하지 않고 영양있는 것으로 공급하고 세심하게 보호하고 소중히 여깁니다. 바로 주님께서 교회에게 하시듯이 말입니다.
30Because we are members (parts) of His body. 우리는 그분의 몸인 교회의 지체들입니다.
31For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. 이러므로 사람이 부모를 떠나 그의 아내와 연합하여 한 몸을 이룰찌로다
32This mystery is very great, but I speak concerning [the relation of] Christ and the church. 이 비밀은 매우 위대합니다. 그러나 나는 그리스도와 교회와의 관계에 대해 말하고 있습니다.
33However, let each man of you [without exception] love his wife as [being in a sense] his very own self; and let the wife see that she respects and reverences her husband [that she notices him, regards him, honors him, prefers him, venerates, and esteems him; and that she defers to him, praises him, and loves and admires him exceedingly]. [I Pet. 3:2.]그러나, 얘외없이 여러분 각자가 그 자신의 몸처럼 아내를 사랑하십시요 : 아내들은 남편을 존경하고 경외하고 있음을 보이십시요(남편을 주목하고, 생각하고, 명예롭게 하고 우선시하고, 존경하고, 존중하십시요: 그의 의견에 따르고 칭송하고 사랑하고 매우 칭찬해 주십시요(존숭하십시요))
Ephesians 6
1CHILDREN, OBEY your parents in the Lord [as His representatives], for this is just and right.자녀들이여 (주님의 대리인으로서)주안에서 부모에게 순종하십시요, 그겻이 옳습니다.
2Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother--this is the first commandment with a promise--여러분의 부모를 공경하십시요(귀히 여기고 존중해 드리십시요) -이것은 약속있는 첫계명인데
3That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth. 그러면 모든 것이 잘되고 땅에서 여러분이 장수할 것입니다.
4Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment], but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord. 아버지들이여, 자녀들을 자극하여 분노를 유발시키지 마십시요. (약오르게 하여 원한을 유발시키지 마십시요) 오직 주님의 교훈, 규율, 권고와 훈계안에서 그들을 부드럽게 이끌어 주십시요.
5Servants (slaves), be obedient to those who are your physical masters, having respect for them and eager concern to please them, in singleness of motive and with all your heart, as [service] to Christ [Himself]--종들이여, 육신의 주인들에게 순종하십시요, 주님 자신을 섬기듯이, 일심으로, 그들을 존경하며 열심있는 섬김으로 그들을 기쁘게 하십시요.
6Not in the way of eye-service [as if they were watching you] and only to please men, but as servants (slaves) of Christ, doing the will of God heartily and with your whole soul; 그들 눈 앞에서만, 사람들을 기쁘게만 하려하지 말고 주님의 종으로서 진심으로 온마음을 다하여 하나님의 뜻을 행하십시요.
7Rendering service readily with goodwill, as to the Lord and not to men, 사람에게가 아니라 주님에게 하는 것처럼 선한 의지로써 섬기십시요.
8Knowing that for whatever good anyone does, he will receive his reward from the Lord, whether he is slave or free. 그가 종이든지 자유자든지 선하게 일을 한 사람은 누구든지 주님으로부터 그의 상을 받을 것이라는 것을 알아두십시요.
9You masters, act on the same [principle] toward them and give up threatening and using violent and abusive words, knowing that He Who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no respect of persons (no partiality) with Him. 여러분, 주인된 자들이여 그들에 대하여 똑같은 원칙으로 행하여 위협,폭력, 모독하는 말을 버리십시요. 여러분의 주님이시며 또한 그들의 주님이신 그 분이 하늘에 계시고 거기에는 차별이 없음을 알아두십시요.
10In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 마지막으로, 주안에서 강건하십시요 (그분과의 연합을 통해 능력을 받으십시요): 그분으로부터 여러분의 (그분의 한량없는)힘을 공급받으십시요.
11Put on God's whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. (하나님이 공급하시는 중무장한 병사의 갑옷인) 하나님의 전신갑주를 입으십시요 그래서 마귀의 모든 계략과 기만술에 대해 성공적으로 굳건히 설 수 있도록 하십시요.
12For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. 우리는 혈과육에 대해(육체적인 대적들만에 대해) 싸움을 하고 있는 것이 아니라 정사(독재자들), 권세(능력들), 현재의 어둠가운데 있는 세상 주관자들, 하늘에 있는(초자연적인) 악의 영적군대에 대해 싸움을 하고 있습니다.
13Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. 그러므로 하나님의 전신갑주를 입어서, 위험이 닥치는 악한 날에 여러분이 저항하고 굳건히 땅에 발을 디디고 설 수있도록, 그리고 이 모든 일을(위기 대처) 행한 후에 여러분의 위치에 굳건히 서 있도록 하십시요.
14Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, 그러므로 여러분의 발로 땅을 굳건히 디디고 서서, 진리의 허리띠를 조이고 정직과 도덕적 성실, 하나님 우편에 섬의 흉배를 입고,
15And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. 평강의 복음의 예비됨 안에서 신발을 신고 (적을 맞서기 위해, 안정성, 신속성, 민첩성을 발휘할 수 있도록 복음으로 예비된 꼭 맞는 신발을 신고)
16Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. 모든 것 위에 구원의 믿음의 보호방패를 들어 올려서 악한자의 모든 화전을 소멸할 수 있도록 하고
17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. 구원의 투구를 쓰고, 성령의 휘두르는 검 곧, 하나님의 말씀을 가지십시요.
18Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people). 항상(어떤 때나, 어떤 경우에서나) 기도와 간구의 모든 방법으로 성령안에서 기도하십시요. 끝까지 깨어 있고 강한 목적괴 인내를 견지하면서 모든 성도들을 위해 중보하면서 지켜 주십시요.
19And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel), 또한 나를 위해서도 기도할 것은 내게 말씀의 자발성과 자유함을 주셔서 내 입을 열어 복음의 비밀을 담대히 전하게 해 달라고 기도해 주십시요
20For which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain [in prison. Pray] that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do. 나는 감옥의 쇠사슬에 묶인 대사로서 대담하고 용감하게 그것을 선포하는 것이 내가 마땅히 해야 할 일이기 때문입니다.
21Now that you may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord [and His service], will tell you everything. 내 상태와 내가 하는 일들을 알려드리도록, 여러분에게 모든 것을 말해줄 주님안에서 사랑하는 형제요, 신실한 종인 두기고를
22I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may console and cheer and encourage and strengthen your hearts. 이 목적을 위해 보내드리며 그가 우리가 어떻게 지내는지 알게 해드리고 여러분의 심령을 위로하고 격려하며 세워주고 강하게 해 드릴 것입니다.
23Peace be to the brethren, and love joined with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 형제 여러분에게 평강과 하나님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도로부터 믿음으로 말미암는 사랑이 넘치기를
24Grace (God's undeserved favor) be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with undying and incorruptible [love]. Amen (so let it be). 주 예수 그리스도를 사랑하는 모든 사람들에게 죽지 않고 썩지않는 사랑과 함께 은혜가 넘치기를 기도합니다.
